October 26 - I have started on the spinner.  The instructions have you glue 6 discs of 3/4 pine together with an "all thread" rod down the center, then carve it, or turn it on a lathe, to shape.

Not having a lathe, I chucked it in the drill press and used a big wood rasp to shape it.

October 28 - Now with all of the parts essentially fabricated, it is time to begin the assembly.  The metal cowling came pretty much shaped, with just some creases to be added for fine tune fitting.The test pilot is kept up to date on all of the progress and gives the occasional suggestion.

November 4- The cowls are then removed for sanding and sealing.  After a coat of black on the inside, I maybe went a little to far for a kids toy, but I put a skim coat of "Bondo" over the entire exterior .  Then I spent several days sanding and getting ready for primer.
